Singapore, December 12, 2023 – Saba’s Time Quest is an interactive mobile web game that takes players on an exciting augmented reality treasure hunt across Singapore. Developed by a team of innovative creators at CraveFX in conjunction with BytePlus, a ByteDance company, this immersive experience combines the thrill of exploration with the power of augmented reality (AR) technology.

Embark on a Journey with Saba’s Time Quest

In Saba’s Time Quest, players join Saba the otter on her adventurous journey to save reality as we know it. One rainy evening, Saba stumbles upon a mysterious glowing object in the depths of the Singapore River. As she reaches for it, the object reveals that it is an interdimensional being. It tells Saba about the existence of Time Rifts – areas in the real world where time and space is unstable, causing strange phenomena. Saba learns that there are currently many Time Rifts across Singapore threatening the fabric of reality.

To close these Time Rifts and prevent further destruction, the being creates the Panoptik, a device that allows non-interdimensional beings like Saba and the players to find and seal the rifts. Now, it’s up to Saba and the players to explore Singapore, locate the Time Rifts, and restore the balance of reality.

Interactive Features of Saba’s Time Quest

Saba’s Time Quest can be accessed through various channels, including the official Saba’s Time Quest website, scanning QR codes on standees, and social media ads on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. Upon accessing the game through their mobile browsers, players are greeted with a visually-stunning interactive map.

It all starts with the map experience

The map showcases different familiar locations across Singapore, including ION Orchard, Singapore’s premier mall at the heart of Orchard Road, and Science Centre Singapore, who are key partners for Saba’s Time Quest. Players can tap on different parts of the map to move Saba where they want to go. On the map, players will encounter Mega Rifts (mini-maps), Lost Artefacts, and Place icons. These interactive points have a few features: they provide context to the story, offer information about the location, allow users to play augmented reality effects related to the location, as well as contain rewards like vouchers.

Lost Artefacts represent objects from both Singapore’s past and probable future that have been zapped across the timeline through Mini Rifts, and are scattered throughout the map. Players have the opportunity to collect various types of Lost Artefacts. Each Artefact comes with educational information, tying it to the game’s narrative and Singapore’s rich history.

The user interface of Saba’s Time Quest is easy to use at first glance. Buttons for the Voucher Wallet and Artefact Bag are front and centre, allowing players to manage their collected items efficiently. Saba herself occasionally appears on the screen, providing helpful hints.

A Platform for Partners

Saba’s Time Quest also offers opportunities for partners to showcase their locations through their own custom landmarks and artefacts. Partners can have their own mini-map within the game, known as a Mega Rift. Mega Rifts bring visitors to partners’ locations and allow their visitors to enjoy unique TikTok AR effects and retail promotions.

To ensure seamless gameplay, players are encouraged to register and log in with their email addresses. This allows them to retain their progress and vouchers. However, registration is not mandatory, and players can still enjoy the content without collecting vouchers.
