“Moirai – Thread of Life“, an animated short film worked on by Nanyang Technological University Associate Professor Ina Conradi and Singapore animation studio CraveFX, has clinched the prestigious Best In Show award at SIGGRAPH Asia Computer Animation Festival 2023 in Sydney, the first Singapore based production to do so since SIGGRAPH Asia’s inception in 2008.
“Moirai – Thread of Life,” directed by Ina Conradi and Mark Chavez, delves into the realms of quantum physics through a visually stunning narrative, symbolizing the interconnected threads that shape our universe. This accolade at SIGGRAPH Asia, a renowned platform for digital art and animation, underscores the global impact and ingenuity of Singaporean talent.

Ina Conradi, a key figure in this collaboration, brings a rich history of accolades and international recognition to the project. Her previous works, such as “Chrysalis” and “Elysian Fields,” have garnered global acclaim, including a Lumiere Award by AIS Hollywood and recognition in the 86th Academy Awards Animated Short Film Qualifying Screening. Her contributions to the Ars Electronica Festival highlight her unique ability to blend art and science, creating immersive and thought-provoking experiences.
